About me
Hi, I’m Dorothy, a qualified ESL teacher and interpreter.
I received my Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting, specializing in interpreting, but I started working with languages much earlier. My whole life has been characterized by language learning — I could even say that my whole life has been influenced by the love of languages.
We started working together with my first students in 2020, and soon after that I realized that I had found my calling.
After 4 years of teaching languages online, I obtained my TEFL Level 5 qualification, and then moved to Malta to teach languages. I immediately started working at a local language school and passed the mandatory exam required for long-term language teaching at the highest level (SEPTT Band 4).
Between 2024 and 2026, in addition to online language teaching, I taught multilingual groups in two language schools, and in the meantime, I completed more than 50 hours of further training (CPD) within the framework of international conferences and special workshops.
From the summer of 2026, I will use the experience and skills I gained in Malta and the years before to help even more students experience the joys of language learning and achieve their goals from the comfort of their home.

My mission
In my classes, I like to emphasize speaking, because this is the skill that is most difficult to master alone or in crowded classes.
I adapt each class to individual expectations and skills, after consultation with the student.
Whether it’s tutoring (following the course material) or progressing along an individual curriculum, it’s important to me that all my students leave my classes satisfied; because they’ve learned new things or acquired new skills that can further deepen their existing knowledge.
Although it’s not possible to make every class fun, as there are drier, more complicated parts, I definitely strive to make students happy to take what they’ve learned in class home and not sit in front of the screen with a stomach ache the following week. I believe that with mutual respect, good vibes and sufficient motivation, language learning can be a pleasant experience for everyone!
